Y'all, when I say I don’t like the dentist I don’t mean in some slightly nervous, this might suck kind of way, I mean wring my hands, take deep breaths, fight back tears and then dig nails into my own skin through the whole process kind of anxiety. It’s ugly. That’s how I found myself this past Monday, having ignored pain I was experiencing from a crown the doctor had placed a month prior. It became too much and I heard her in the back of my head, warning it may turn into a root canal later, but she was willing to try a crown first, for me and my anxious heart. Well, “later” came and I just knew I’d be getting a root canal today. The look on the doc’s face confirmed it, but she took the time to test my tooth multiple ways before breaking out the needle. Imagine my surprise when she decided to adjust the bite on my crown to see if that would help, and IT DID!! Where some dentists would have called for the needle to numb and jumped right in, Dr. Rijal took the time to listen and really figure it out, making sure I didn’t have unnecessary work done. I am so grateful for her, and I’m also so thankful I went back! Ignoring the pain was so silly! I cried happy tears or relief as I walked out the door. You’ve got a forever patient in me, Dr. Rijal, and if someone out there needs a dentist who cares and takes the time to work with you and your anxiety - Dr. Rijal is the dentist for you! Thanks, Doc!
